Photograms are made by placing an object or an image transparency on emulsion coated paper, and the paper is then placed in the sun or an exposure unit. Anyplace that is opaque on the image will stop development, the emulsion washes out, and that area is left white. My photograms were made by putting some of my cut newspaper pieces on old photographic developing paper, which turned a color in the sun. I used different papers that turned different colors, scanned them so I could increase the scale; then they are hand cut and pieced together. The newspaper is thin enough that both front and back can be seen on the photogram.
