\napoplexy and sword-fighting
\njoining lips
\nunder the giant clich\u00e9s,

\nBiologically speaking,
\nit is reassuring
\nthat the violence
\nprecipitates
\nno intrinsic change
\nin the characters.
\nWhen they have at it
\nthey produce an effect
\nmuch akin
\nto the romance
\nof a roaring fire
\nmade of fake logs.
\nIt must be said
\nthe pricks of curiosity
\nare masculine
\nin the way they are misconstrued,
\nand the buildup vibrates
\nwith the tension
\nof high-speed
\ntar.
\nBut truly,
\nthe scarlet threads
\nof sex and pirating
\nhave never before been
\nso intriguingly conjoined.
\nAnd the insertion devices conjure
\nthe philosophical
\ninquirer.
\nAs this is to realize
\nthat a body can contain so many things.
\nThe chronopolitical uncanny moment
\nof looking in the mirror
\nand seeing your mouth
\nrealizing it belongs to an ancestor
\nyou don’t even know,
\nand that the past is always on you
\nand the future as well,
\nlusting.
\nAnd this
\ncommingling of parts
\ndoes not believe
\nin the immutability
\nof anything.
\nRather,
\nit believes in perpetual movement
\nand transformations in life
\nconstantly accentuated
\nby accidents and chances
\ntaking form
\nthrough fragility and resistance
\nand the fragility\u2019s resistance
\nto ambiguities.
\nEven so,
\nthis reviewer must confess
\nthat a bestial flush
\ninvaded her cheek.
\nUnable to withstand
\nthe erotic horseplay,
\na concupiscence arose
\nthat hadn’t been equaled
\nsince reading
\nDante’s Inferno<\/em>.
\nIn the end,
\n138 minutes
\nof electromagnetism
\ndisciplines a type
\ngiven to reading Duras
\nand educates
\nthe hypnotized subject-reviewer
\nhigh on analgesics
\nand ennui
\nwho is now fully conscious
